The Chinese New Year festivities at Mandani Bay bode immensely auspicious as they include the groundbreaking of the Retail Component at the Boardwalk, representing a major project milestone.

Mandani Bay joined the global community in ushering in Chinese New Year, alternately called the Lunar New Year, on February 8, 2024, Thursday, in signature grand revelry.

The groundbreaking ceremony comprises the highlight of the event. Lowering the time capsule at the event were Mr. Gilbert Ang, HTLand Project Director, Engr. Maynard Taray, Senior Project Manager HTLand Inc., Architect Dax Cuaresma, Design Manager HTLand Inc., Mr. Zosimo Mercado, President of JLO and Daughsons Inc., and April Salamero, HTLand Leasing Manager.

The Retail Component is one of the property’s most exciting elements, hosting homegrown and national names in dining. The concept is eagerly anticipated by discerning diners. It will host coffeshops and restaurants serving all-day breakfasts and culinary novelty in a setting that offers an unobstructed view of the Mactan Channel.

Mandani Bay’s Lunar New Year celebration is a tradition started in the community in 2017.

This year, as in previous years, the Chinese New Year Parade, at the multi-awarded Mandani Bay Show Gallery, featured the Dragon/Lion Dance. The dance is an important ritual believed to bring good luck and drive away evil spirits.

MANDANI BAY PASSIONS FULFILLED DURING THE SINULOG FLUVIAL PARADE 2024

Last Saturday, January 20, 2024, the Mandani Bay Boardwalk receives thousands of Cebuanos and visitors for the annual viewing of the Sto. Nino Fluvial Procession. The Fluvial Procession Viewing, started in 2016, is now a Sinulog tradition.

Part of the masterplan, the Boardwalk has an unobstructed view of the Mactan Channel. It will soon have an amphitheater, the Marina and interesting retail and dining options.

Thousands attend the Fluvial Procession Viewing, enjoying the sunrise revelry that precedes the surreal moment when the head galleon bearing the miraculous Sto. Niño image faces the Boardwalk en route to its Cebu City landing. The event is a grand celebration of song and dance, both a showcase of Cebuano culture and spiritual offering to the Holy Child. Local cuisine will also be on display as on-site concessionaires offer a vast array of meals and delicacies.

Everyone is welcome at the Fluvial Procession Viewing. Gates open at 4:30 am.

TOPPING-OFF CEREMONY: MANDANI BAY QUAY

MANDANI BAY QUAY, the second phase of the landmark Mandani Bay community in Mandaue City, Cebu was topped off on Monday, January 15, 2024, amidst celebratory appreciation of the amazing feat that has been accomplished with this milestone.

The Topping-Off Ceremony is the first of its kind in Cebu. It is the first time that a project of this scale (four towers) is simultaneously topped off. The ceremony included a grand banner drop and massive fireworks display that enveloped all four towers. A Cebuano fiesta celebration, with cultural dances, an ode to the ongoing Fiesta Señor/ Sinulog 2024, followed at The Tent.

MANDANI BAY AND VICSAL FOUNDATION SHARE CHRISTMAS WITH 300 MANDAUE FAMILIES

Landmark community Mandani Bay, in partnership with Vicsal Foundation, Inc., shares the joy of Christmas today with 300 families of Barangay Centro, Mandaue City.

The event at the Mandaue City Sports Complex signifies the commitment of HTLand, Inc., Mandani Bay’s parent-company, and Vicsal Foundation, Inc. to the well-being of residents in communities surrounding the emerging mixed-use village. It is conducted in coordination with the City of Mandaue and the Barangay Centro Council.

Fifteen (15) volunteers from both organizations are committed to distribute gift packs containing groceries and other essentials to the beneficiary-families. They are also serving meals to the beneficiaries, an estimated total of 300 individuals.

Part of Mandani Bay’s corporate social responsibility effort, the gift-giving activity has been held annually since the project was launched in 2016, but was discontinued in keeping with COVID-19 protocols when the pandemic was declared.

“Sharing the joy of Christmas, particularly with the residents of Barangay Centro, is our way of showing gratitude to the communities that have welcomed and continue to support us. MANDANI BAY CELEBRATES ITS 8TH YEAR OF HOSTING THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BY THE BAY

Mandani Bay has once again spiced up Asia’s premier waterfront community through celebrating its 8th year of hosting Christmas by the Bay last October 26, 2023.

Christmas by the Bay is the property’s annual tradition where spectators gather to celebrate the merriest season of all through various performances, delicious cuisines, and grand fireworks display to cap off the celebration.

The 20-hectare mixed-use development illuminates a portion of F.E. Zuellig with dazzling and clinquant lights on its outdoor Christmas tree accompanied with draping light strips and buoyant music giving out a holiday ambience in one of Cebu’s bustling metropolises.

Audi Villa, HTLand’s assistant vice president and sales head, remarks that the topping-off of the four towers under Mandani Bay Quay will commence next year. “From an unoccupied land, 8 years after, we are slowly realizing the world-class lifestyle destination commitment.”, Villa said.

Turnover of the units in Phase 1 of the development – Mandani Bay Suites – is currently in progress. The Boardwalk, emerging soon to give out another premium lifestyle space, will be delivered in mid-2023 where it will host world-class and homegrown brands, dining and hobbies, green areas and jogging trails.

HTLAND, VICSAL FOUNDATION PARTICIPATES IN BRIGADA ESKWELA 2023

HTLand Inc. recently partnered with Vicsal Foundation to bring back colors to Tingub National High School.

As a result of this partnership, HTLand took part in the Brigada Eskwela 2023, and breathed new life into the first-floor corridor walls, transforming the learning space on August 23, 2023, at Tingub National High School.

Leorelei Ylaya, HTLand Head of Marketing, remarks that part of the company’s social responsibility program is to provide assistance to learning grounds. “This year, we opted to repaint the first-floor corridors of Tingub National Highschool in order to have a more conducive and decent learning environment for the students.”

A brand-new television and additional paint materials were also donated to support a progressive education and a dynamic learning environment.

MANDANI BAY QUAY LOGS 10M SAFE MANHOURS

Recognized by DOLE for occupational safety and employee well-being standards, HTLand, Inc., developer of Cebu’s landmark Mandani Bay estate, together with its partner contractors and service providers, celebrates a milestone in project development today, with recognition from the Department of Labor and Employment for achieving 10 Million Safe Manhours without lost time incident on Mandani Bay Quay.

Million Safe Manhours milestones are marked to acknowledge employers’ effectiveness in implementing workplace safety management programs. HTLand, Inc. is the first among property developers in Cebu to reach the 10 million goal post.

The project currently employs 2,800 workers under the supervision of ten partner suppliers, delivering general construction, electrical and auxiliary, mechanical, fire protection, waterproofing and other primary services, project program and construction management, and quantity surveying.

HTLand Sr. Project Manager Shaun Pereira credits the company’s partners, Monocrete Construction Philippines, Inc., ASEC Development and Construction Corporation, Meralco MSERV, Gigatech General Engineering and Supplier, Air Beyond Satisfaction Services, Inc., Based on Scientia, HOLZ coating International, Inc., Bluetech Construction Corporation, Prime Power Energie System, Inc., and Rider Levett Bucknall for the program’s success.

Pereira shares that safety-oriented regulations faithfully observed at the project site facilitate not only the achievement of the safety milestones but also ensure that the environment and workers’ health and safety are not compromised.

At the tender stage, he explains, contractors submit the Environmental, Health and Safety Management Plan and Policy document which is evaluated by the DOLE. Work commences only upon submission of the DOLE-approved plan.

Daily toolbox meetings and pre-deployment orientation of workers emphasize the necessity of adhering to established health and safety rules. Issues and concerns requiring management solutions are discussed at regular higher-level meetings.

Mandani Bay Quay is the second phase of the 20-hectare waterfront development. It consists of three residential towers and the One Mandani Bay Office Tower, an amenity deck, a commercial sector, and podium parking.

Mandani Bay boasts stunning views of Cebu, Lapulapu, and Mandaue Cities as well as an engaging vista of the Mactan Channel. The community sets the bar for a new era of development in Asia as it is now recognized as one of its world-class urban destinations.

Construction works of MBQ Tower 1 are now on the 27th floor.

Masonry works from the 6th to the 18th floor are being completed.

Ongoing construction of interior partition walls between units and installation of electrical and auxiliary works.

Tower 2 construction is now on the 32nd floor.

 

Interior partitions of the residential units from the 6th to the 22nd floor including their Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection provisions are being completed.

Construction of Tower 3 is now on the 27th floor. Interior partitions of the units on the 18th floor and below with their Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection provisions are being completed.

The unit partition walls on the lower floors are being done concurrently with the structural works on the upper floors, including the elevator lobby walls.
